Our Recreational “Soccer 4 Fun” Programs are fun oriented offering informal soccer with a low level of commitment and catering to all levels of ability. These programs are designed based on the guiding principles of Long Term Player Development as laid out by Canada Soccer. For detailed Program Descriptions please click here.
With the exception of the Tots program which is a parent participation program, Parents are not permitted inside the gymnasium. Parents are welcome to watch from the viewing balcony above the gym on the 2nd floor of the RPYCC. (Note: if a child is having difficulties integrating or needs additional support then you can speak to the program coordinator or email houseleague@pysa.ca to request a parent be allowed into the gym until the player no longer needs the extra support).
The Winter Soccer 4 Fun will have programming for the age groups not offered in Fall, and will be communicated in November, with a program start of January 8th.
We are happy to announce that we will be having a Soccer 4 Fun program this year. It will be a 10 week program starting late June. This program will be for children born in the years 2011-2019.
No Jersey Night - Jerseys will be issued at the first few sessions at the field at arrival.
We require all members to read safety information on our COVID webpage and complete the necessary waivers provided during online registration. PSC Waiver is built into the online registration process. At the end of the registration form you will receive a link to this Town of Paradise waiver. Complete fillable pdf (or print complete and scan) and submit by email to registrar@pysa.ca once registered.
We Need Parent Volunteers for U5 to U8 Game Leader Roles, and U8 to U11 Assistant Coaches Roles. No prior soccer experience necessary. U5 to U8 Game Leaders assist our coaches and supervise small sided games for U5 to U8 age groups. To promote active participation we operate a multitude of games simultaneously and so need volunteers to help supervise those game fields. U9 to U11 Parent Assistant Coaches are there to help our staff coaches to run the games.

for U3/U4 Combined Session Length (30 minutes)
Please note TOTS is a Parent & Child Program - We have morning and evening options to fit your schedule. As the children are at the introductory level parents are integrated to participate in an interactive way to help their children to understand the simple activities and offering a guiding hand to encourage their participation. Each session will include three or four Fun Activities which will be led by our trained instructors.
What to Bring - Tots do not require any soccer specific footwear or shinpads. You will be provided with a Jersey and shorts and socks. We request that players wear their Jersey (underlayers may be necessary for outdoor programs). Players should have water available for regular water breaks throughout the session.
for U5/U6/U7/U8 Session Length (45 minutes)
Fun Activities & Small Sided Games supervised by Game Leaders. Our goal with our "Move Touch Play" philosophy is that every child is active for the entire time, enhancing their overall experience. This is beneficial for skill development as well as physical health.
For Small Sided Games we employ a flexible approach to creating teams to limit the need for players sitting on the bench. Players will be assigned a team colour but when they play their SSG's they will be on a team with different players from one session to the next. Due to this flexible approach to games team requests are not considered for these age groups. All players within an age group will be located at the same field so carpooling will not be a problem regardless of team assignments. In exceptional circumstances we may consider a team request, contact kbutton@pysa.ca.
This program is based on the CSA LTPD Model Fundamentals stage for players aged 5-8 years old. Players will be divided into small groups and work with an instructor who will lead then though Fun Activity Games and then progress into dividing the players into teams to play small sided games or scrimmages which are overseen by Game Leaders (could be an instructor or volunteer parent).
What to Bring - Players should wear shin pads. Soccer Cleats are recommended for outdoors as fields can be slippery when wet.. You will be provided with a Jersey and shorts and socks. We request that players wear their Jersey (under layers may be necessary for outdoor programs). Players should have water available for regular water breaks throughout the session.
for U9 / U11 Session Length (60 minutes)
Our Rec Leagues for Under 9 - Under 11 do not have league standings with all matches being played on a friendly basis. Teams will warm up first and then play a game against another team. For U9 game length is 40 minutes (two 20 minute halves). The Under 9 Warm Up will also include a Fun Activity. For U11 game length is 50 minutes (two 25 minute halves).
