PSC is calling for applications for summer jobs. We are looking to fill various positions with energetic individuals who are interested to assist with the coordination, planning and operation of the Summer Soccer Program teaching soccer skills to youth, and coordination of tournaments and special events.

NEW Applications Deadline:  April 22nd 2022 for all other positions.
 
 
Summer Program Intern
Eligible: High School
Period of Employment: June 21 - August 29, 2021
Rate of Pay: $13.20/hour; Variable hours 5 to 15 hours/week; flex time including some weekends

Competitions Coordinator / Programs Coordinator
Eligible: Post-Secondary
Period of Employment: Start Date June 1st to June 21st Timeframe tbc, End Date September 5th tbc
Rate of Pay: $14.00/hour; 30 to 35 hours/week; flex time including some weekends

Note: All staff are required to complete PSC Staff Training and Orientation during the week of Jun 13th as well as Town of Paradise training courses typically during the week of June 20th. Coordinators and Instructors are encouraged to take the Active Start and Fundamentals coaching certification.

 
Job Descriptions:
 
Summer Program Intern

  • Assisting Instructors with the delivery of our soccer program to youth participants, which includes skills, drill & games
  • Preparing for sessions, setting up and dismantling equipment
  • Field liaisons for Metro weekends
  • Other duties assigned by your employer

These internships offer an opportunity to get some entry-level exposure to our Summer Jobs Program for students that aspire to work as Instructors and Coordinators in the future.

Eligibility Requirements

  • All applicants must be fully available as scheduled June through August
  • Valid first aid certificate
  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector check required
     

Competition Coordinator

  • Work with Paradise Soccer Club Executive & Staff to coordinate and manage Competitions Hosting throughout the summer (Competitive and Recreational).
  • Dealing with tournament registrations including Team, Player & Coach Registrations for the various levels of competition.
  • Assist with building Tournament schedules and managing tournament pages on the club website.
  • Ensuring staff understand and execute hosting requirements (Field Set Up, Supervision, Equipment, and Documentation).
  • On Field Delivery (Age Group Lead) of recreational programs.
  • Providing support documents and Training for Field Liaisons.
  • Ensuring Game sheets are filed/submitted.
  • Maintaining updating and communicating Tournament Rules and Regulations.
  • Assisting with distribution of club apparel (player and coach) for Tournament Teams.
  • Dealing with sponsorship & general tournament logistics, signage, vendors, trophies and hosting site requirements.

Program Coordinator

  • Work with Paradise Soccer Club Executive & Staff to coordinate a variety of soccer camps/programs throughout the summer.
  • Provide administrative assistance in dealing with registrations/payments of players for programs and camps.
  • Take and action inquiries from the general public as required. Investigate complaints or concerns within soccer programs as they arise.
  • Provide Direction to staff coaches providing them with necessary resources, curriculum updates and training plans and equipment.
  • Supervise the delivery of soccer programs. On Field Delivery (Age Group Lead) of recreational programs.
  • Referees Coordinator, assigning and facilitating payment of referees.
  • Volunteer Coordinator responsible for recruiting, assigning and training volunteers.
  • Equipment Manager for Rec programs and camps.
  • Ensure necessary equipment is available and oversee processes of set up and tear down of soccer activities and equipment storage.
  • Enforcing Site Safety Protocols. Inventory and management of equipment.
  • Assist with the development of club Programs/Projects for Persons with Disabilities.
  • Monitor & Adhere to safe work practices & procedures as outlined at orientation.
  • Complete other assigned duties as required.
